Default 82 ParCar will not run, electrical issue

Hi Everyone

I picked up an 82 parcar golf cart and am having some problems with it.
When I bought it it would start and run fine. One day last week it just stopped running.

THe battery appears to be fine as the engine turns over withotu issue.

After I put a spark tester on it i found that power is only sent to the plug when you press or release the gas pedal.

Does anyone know where i can start troubleshooting this issue?

Yes it is getting fuel and will fire 1 time when you first press the pedal and once when you let off the pedal. If it tap the pedal repeatedly it will almost start but once i push the pedal at all the spark will stop and the engine will stop firing

Fargo:

I had a 93 that did the same thing. In fact, I'm working on it currently. Several folks which I have complete confidence in (lots of years experience) have told me that is due to an ignition module going bad. I don't know if yours uses points and condenser or ignition module, but if it's a module, it's probably the source of your problem. Just a thought.
