Default How should i speed up my Club Car DS?

So I have a 2001 Club Car DS. The motor will rev up and will even occasionally hit the rev limiter but it will only do 8mph. Any suggestions on how to make it a little faster? Thanks

Put it on blocks and check operation of clutches belt should ride to top of primary clutch and sink to bottom of secondary clutch at wide open throttle.... If it hits revlimiter at 8 mph I'd be willing to bet one or both clutches aren't operating correctly

how far up should it go on the primary? I've noticed in the past that it only seems to go about halfway. Sometimes when I can hear it pop and disengage. I'm assuming this is related.

It should come close to flush if it's only coming half way up this the primary clutch is definitely your issue I'd pull it apart and inspect everything

I bought it with a 37.5 inch od belt. I dont know if a 31.5 would fit on

It seems the previous owner put on the wrong size drive belt!

On DS's, the 1" x 31.5 drive belt has been standard for quite some time! (92 to present)
