87 CC Gasser - New Life to an Old Cart
Well - here goes. My wife had my brother-in-law looking for a used, cheap golf cart for me for my birthday (gotta love a wife like that!!).
Here's what we came up with - an '87 with a seized KF82 engine and lots of room for potential, lol: |

Here's some looks inside of the engine compartment on the day it followed me home:
Lots of clean up ahead! |

Haha! Thanks Dock! Funny thing is my b-day isn't until July, he just didn't want this thing sitting around his yard until then! I'm actually a little way into the rebuild and just figured out how to get photos uploaded, so I'm going to post a bunch of pix of the stages along the way while the boss is out to lunch here at work!

Wow... I hope the rest of the present is some more $$$$ to fix it up. Just removing that eyeball from the center of the hood will help tons. :)
Seriously, have fun... and we love pics. |

I like the eye ball add a brass bell, paint it up like an old GMO steam engine and have a ball with it. Whats the worst you can do, scratch it?

Here's where we got the ol' girl undressed and took a look around:
Next I'll post some close up shots of the motor, clutches, rear end, etc. |

lol, thanks guys (and gals)! The cyclops was one of the first things to go! I'm on my way to making a mini Willy's style jeep to cruise around the neighbor hood on. I cheated a little and ordered a fiberglass Jeep front cowl that I just can't wait to get mounted! Many more pictures to come!

Re: 87 CC Gasser - New Life to an Old Cart
These are some close ups on the engine, starter/gen, and clutches. I already ordered the Powermax 16hp motor and Comet 780 clutch to replace the front, and shipped off my driven clutch to Top at CPP per the advice I found on this site. Hopefully he will get it tomorrow and turn it around pretty soon:

Good little project...... I am in process of putting the 13hp clone in an 85. Looks the same. You will need to move the engine ahead a little to clear the new starter from the rear end ..... Only then can you measure for a belt....
I can't tell you the size because I used a larger diameter driven clutch... Keep the pics coming |
