Re: Just installed 2 inch wheel spacers on my I40L
disagree about height and saying such with personal experience as explained in my post.
those half height lug nuts are a problem, it may not be because of size but it is a problem. You can get down to the nuts and bolts of it (yeah, punny) to find the real problem but the issue is that those half height lug nuts dont grab and there's plenty of thread on the stud left over. I dealt with this for a while and an odd clicking sound at certain speeds as well as an eventually loose tire from spacer to hub. Put the stock lugs against the spacers and the problem went away, no loctite needed and studs are same height. The lug nuts I bought are the same size as stock. Call it what you will but it aint stud length. I can use them interchangeably against the cart lugs or spacer lugs and have had zero issues since. |

Interesting. Thanks for the insight. I guess the loctite won't hurt then.
Thanks. |

Re: Just installed 2 inch wheel spacers on my I40L
I took off my 2" spacers. I don't have fender flares installed on my lifted cart. IMO, I think the rear flares look good but the front flares look a little goofy. With the 2" spacers, the rear tires stuck out a little too far for my liking. The front tires looked about right, though.
I measured the front and rear track and discovered that the rear track was about 3.5" wider than the front. That explains the difference in appearance between the front and rear. I've been going back and forth with adding 1" spacers on just the front. These would be purely for cosmetic reasons because I didn't really notice a difference in stability when the 2" spacers were installed. Maybe it was better, but I didn't feel it. However I did feel that turning took a little more effort with the spacers on. I've measured the front wheel studs and they are about 7/8", so 1" spacers should fit. If anyone is interested in four 2" spacers with only a few hundred miles on them for $50, hit me up. |

Plus I don't want water/mud slung up any more than what happens now, and don't want to give up any turning radius or effort at low speeds. I'm sure there is more stress put on the axles and/or suspension with spacers, too. |
