Re: Need some advice on a possible purchase
Sounds like it's a common problem.

Re: Need some advice on a possible purchase
Got it. Now it all makes sense. Seem like this is the problem you've described. His latest response indicates that, once it gets started, it behaves normally.
A couple other questions before I go to see it. 1: What else should I be looking for on a cart of this make/model and year? 2: How good are the gas RXVs at climbing steep inclines on a paved surface? 3: What would be considered a fair price for a 2010 gas RXV in the described condition? Thanks for all of your help folks. I'm really appreciative of your responses. |

Re: Need some advice on a possible purchase
With today’s market who knows. I sold my 2009 many years ago for 3K and it was tricked out. Main things to look for are abnormal wear and how does it run and drive. Check the oil and see if it looks fairly clean. Cart has the 14 horse Kawasaki so should be good climbing hills. Might be able to do some clutch work if needed. I know my older Yamaha would climb near anything after I changed the rear spring. Also check to see what clutches it has on it. Ezgo had issues with original ones squealing and went to the Team clutches. They sell a kit to upgrade them but pricy. I have attached a picture of what the news ones look like.

Re: Need some advice on a possible purchase
How do I verify the RXV's year of manufacture? He states it's a 2010 but I want to make sure it's not a pre-2010. Is there a definitive way to verify this?
I plan to see the cart on Wed. I'll be doing basic things like doing a compression check, oil check, listen for any strange sounds and road testing it. Does anyone have any other suggestions to check on? |

Team clutch will look like the one above with the ribs on the side. Original one has smooth sides and I believe has a black cover. As for year there should be a sticker above the motor on the rail with the date code.
