Default Voltage Reducers not working

Every new voltage reducer I connect to the main pos and neg terminals I do not get 12v coming out of it. I've had previous issues with the resistor melting on the solenoid and the original light kit harness burning up. Now the cart runs just fine with no accessories connected. But can't for the life of me get a voltage reducer to work. The same reducer will work just fine on another 48v cart but not on this cart....
What am I missing?
Thanks

Do you get any voltage coming out of it? I'm thinking that maybe you still have the OEM voltage reducer still installed. Which would reduce the 12 volts down to about 8v.

Have you confirmed you have 48v going into the reducer?

I'm using an aftermarket voltage reducer and I've used several of them. I know the voltage going in is 48v but I get completely nothing coming out on this cart. Put it on another cart and 12v comes out.

What voltage reducer are you using?

If nothing is going in, nothing will come out. The reducer is fine since it works on another cart, so you either have a wiring issue, or its not being connected properly.

We would need to know which cart, which reducer, and where are you connecting it?

I'm using an ECO Battery voltage reducer. I've installed many of these and know how to connect them. Installing on a 2016 Club Car Precedent. The main battery pack is fully charged and showing 49 volts so I'm assuming something has to be going in.

A common mistake alot of people make on installing voltage reducers I have seen is tying both the 12v negative and the pack voltage negative together.

I've read about a possible back-feeding problem so many that's the issue... I have no idea where to begin to look for that issue though.

only 4 or 5 wires hooking up the voltage reducer. take them all loose and reconnect all wires according to the instructions. use a multimeter to check where you are connecting wires, 48 volts in 2 wires, 12 volts out on 2 wires and probably a on/off wire.
