Question Using Dual EcoBattery 105ah or 72ah Lithium Packs in Parallel

Has anyone on the forum every used TWO 48v 105ah or 72ah Lithium Eco Battery Packs in parallel together using the Navitas 5kw / 600amp AC setup?

If so, what was your experience with it? I may be using the setup on a a Navitas frame or a club car precedent.

I'm debating..
1 - 72 Volt 150ah lithium pack
OR
2 - 48 Volt 105ah / 72ah packs in parallel

Desired range would be 50 to 60 miles on a full charge.

I know the top end speed for 72v setup would be much higher, but not so concerned with it being able to do 45 to 50mph.

Main focus is crazy torque and range.

NOTE*
I've never used dual packs in parallel, I've only used single 48v packs and 48v lithium batteries ranging up to 170ah with the Navitas setup.

I have never used a 72v lithium packs of any kind.

My "old" pack (Chevy Volt 48V 105 AH) used two batteries in parallel. I built it and it worked great, but a move and building a house only allowed me to run the cart less than 2 hours, and then with being so close to Eco Battery I swapped to one of their units. Top speed that I saw was about 30 mph. I wish I had more details, but I had zero complaints with the setup.

Couple of pics attached, FWIW.

One Eco 70V 105Ah will yield about the same range as 2 of the 72Ah packs in parallel. The total watt hours are as follows:

1X 70V105Ah = 7,392 Wh
2X 51V72Ah = 7,372 Wh
2X 51V105Ah = 10,752 Wh

The key to maximum range is dialing in the tuning to not waste power. With the 70V battery, you can drastically turn down the max discharge current and still have excellent performance.

Personally I prefer the 70V option as it has the maximum fun factor and can do everything in a single pack. 2 of the 51V105Ah packs will definitely yield the most range. All 3 options you mentioned are viable and work very well.

Roughly what would the range be on a 4 passenger cart with the navitas setup for the 70x105ah and the 2x 51v105ah?

Would either setup fit in a club car precedent or on a navitas ezgo chassis without problem?

Lot of variables to say… terrain (flat vs hilly, pavement vs grass vs sand), temperature, tuning on your controller (regen and max amperage type settings) and most importantly the biggest factor is driving habits. Just like mpg in a car you’ll get a lot more electric range if you’re easy on the go pedal, but it’s a lot more fun to mash it to the floor and let it rip.
