Default EZGO RXV Battery Conversion

Has anybody converted an RXV from 4 12v batteries to 6 8v batteries. Or better yet, 8 6v batteries to improve run time? If so, how did you get to fit? Pictures?

Can you please post a picture under the seat and measure the width and length (shown below) I believe there is enough room to use the TXT batery setup but I don't know as a fact.

They made a conversion for the club car pesident. They should make one for the rxv it would be nice those 12 volt batts are heavy. The yamaha drive when they converted to 8volt they also mad it possible to put 12 volt batts in it as well. Im sure its just a matter of time before they make a conversion.

Here's a pic of the battery compartment. The four batteries sit in a plastic formed tub that looks as if it could come out. Has anybody modified this to accept different batteries? The yellow thing in the drivers side of the compartment is an onboard charger, it can be moved or removed. The stuff on the passenger side can't be moved. (I don't think).

Nearly anything can be moved. Some things are harder than others.

Got it converted. Here's some pics. A buddy of mine started making the trays to do it.

I've just converted my RXV from 4 x 12-volt to 6 x 8-volt. I recently purchase the 12-volt batteries and got 17 miles out of them after the initial charge. I used a GPS to get the exact miles on the charge before I started to notice the RXV slowing down. I then sold those batteries thinking I would like to get more run-time and made the conversion to the 6 x 8-volt batteries. After the initial charge I got 22 miles. I have had my RXV programmed for speed, I can get up to 23 mph out of it and I have larger tires. I was hoping to get more run-time out of the 8 volt batteries but I guess they are not broke in yet either. Does this sound anywhere near what others are getting?

Cfeuerhahn,
Does your buddy sell the battery trays? Can you provide additional information? Thanks!

Just make sure you take the proper steps to break in the batteries. I converted mine about 1 year ago and had to use a tray for a TXT and it worked great.

What is the proper steps for breaking in the batteries? I purchased my tray on eBay for $140. I also had to purchase some cables and hold down kit.
