07 precedent pedal problems?
So I had problems with the controller/solenoid and got a deal on both so I put them in today. The cart will go in forward and reverse but only from 0% to 75% pedal. If I push the pedal down beyond 75% in forward or reverse the cart stops. If I release the pedal back to 75% again it will go again.
I checked the connections at the pedal and they seem ok. Is there some sort of potentiometer in the pedal or is there another problem? |

Re: 07 precedent pedal problems?
This is usually a MCOR problem. Especially when an ALltrax control is involved. The Alltrax is not tolerant of the out of range signal a worn MCOR puts out.

Re: 07 precedent pedal problems?
I replaced the controller and solenoid with stock take offs that my local shop had from a customer that did a high speed motor upgrade so it's a Curtis.

Sounds like the cart is dead to me. Have you checked your battery voltage?

Re: 07 precedent pedal problems?
You might not have tightened all those cables you had loose. When you are under lite load they can jump enough to make it go, but full pedal heavy load they lose connection.

Tahoe, now that I think of it you might be on to something. The batteries are at full charge, however I had 4 12v deep cycle batteries on hand that are a little smaller and only rated at 92 amp hours at 1a. I was only planning on using these for a short time and only thought it would affect my run time.
Do you think that the lower amp hour rating is causing this? If so thanks for catching it before I replaced the MCOR. |

Update:
So, the voltage is good under load, however I was flipping through a buggies unlimited catalog today and noticed there were black controllers and gray controllers. My old one was black, new one is gray. Could this be the issue? |

Re: 07 precedent pedal problems?
Absolutely. You installed an Excel controller on an IQ cart. Not the same.
