Yamaha electric not running
HI all, I know I was having probs with this cart before, but the Charged it up but won't even try to budge. Reset the brain with the back jacked up and the wheel wanted to turn but then not. Put a volt meter on it. Reads fine, put a load tester on the batteries, they all read bad. Not sure what to do...?

Need more specifics on your cart model, year, type and age of batteries, etc.

Re: Yamaha electric not running
Good! That's the same as mine. What brand are your batteries? Does your reverse buzzer operate? Do you hear a click and/or a whine when pressing accelerator with key on?

Re: Yamaha electric not running
Oh, you have lights? Awesome. First thing to do is shut the cart off by flipping the tow/run switch to tow. Next, unplug the 2-wire plug going from the wiring harness to the solenoid (little wires). Flip your meter to ohms and measure (either between the 2 terminals of the plug on the solenoid side or touch the two little posts on the solenoid directly). What is your reading? The spec is 336 ohms at 68 degrees F. If you're close to that, the problem is elsewhere.

Re: Yamaha electric not running
You're welcome. The solenoid was my exact problem. I was fooled for a while because jumping across the solenoid did not work either. Apparently the controller is "smart" enough to not allow operation if the solenoid coil is open. The controllers don't go bad often.

Re: Yamaha electric not running
My meter isn't working, can I jump it and of so how do I do it? Also does this have a reed switch?

Re: Yamaha electric not running
You can't jump it, and there is a gas pedal switch if that's what you mean by a reed switch. That would be the next thing to ohm out if the solenoid coil is okay. You're going to need a meter in order to fix this.
