Added Seafoam to the fuel thinking I might have an ethonol problem even though I didn't see any water in the gas tank. Ran it til it got hot and died. Checked spark, good. Sprayed starter fluid and it started up. Very little fuel in the filters. Waited five minutes and filters had fuel in them again. It's got to be gas related but what would stop fuel from getting to the carb. I've changed the fuel pump. Could there be a crack in a hose allowing air into the system?

take a good look in the gas tank to see if you have any crap in there that might be splashing around and a peice gets picked up by the tube and blocks fuel flow than when its not running the crap settles back down in bottom of tank, i would this is a longshot but after seeing some of the junk i have seen in gas tanks its not such a longshot.....................................

How much trouble is it to remove one of these tanks? I would like to drain and clean this one.

Sounds like the carb is running out of fuel, Check the carb and clean it you may have some trash in it. I have had this problem on many carts and atvs.

Also pull fuel line from carb and take off gas cap and blow with light air pressure back thru tank

Ok, now your getting someplace. you said you already replaced the fuel pump & cleaned the carb. if you have easy access to new fuel & vacuum lines, replace them they are cheap. also, make sure you have vacuum at the pump, you could blow back through the port where you hook up your vacuum line or spray some carb cleaner through it too. At this point, my guess is you have a issue with a line. could be a vacuum line collapse or leaking, could be a fuel line starting to come apart on the inside and plugging up after a few minutes and then going back to normal after no pressure or vacuum for a few minutes. These things can be very hard to tell from the outside of the line. Does not happen often, but, every once in a great while. Make sure your vacuum line is thick enough so that the vacuum will not collapse it. Some real cheap thin lines will work for pressure but will collapse under vacuum.

a very common problem is a small crack in the down tube going into the tank. When it gets hot it opens up and starts to suck air. Remove it and try to blow thru it, if it is cracked you will know, simple 5 minute check.

Finaly got a chance this afternoon to run it after replacing both fuel filters and ran some seafoam in the gas. I ran it for about 3 1/2 miles with no problems. I guess we'll see if it's cured.

This would make sense for a filter to be plugged. They often act that way and after they set for a while the stuff plugging it will drop free and you can get a bit of fuel to pass until you run it a while and the whole cycle starts over again. But, I thought you already replaced them at some point in this thread. If you did, you may have a bunch of crap in the tank too.
