96 will lose spark
i have a 96 that after about 4 minutes of driving ,it starts to sputter and backfire and then stalls. it will still turn over but with no spark. after a few minutes it will take offagain do u guys think its a ignitor issue and if so where can i get one and which ones will work. i see some are using different ones from jd or old weed whippers. help i need my cart back

You can get one from local John Deere, most small engine shops. Also could be coil getting hot and breaking down I have seen this before. Usually when ignitor goes it goes? But have seen a lot of new issues lately. Electrical parts can add up quick, so try and diagnose as much as possible before buying.

you need to find out if its an early 96 or late 96 as the later 96,s have the ignitor built into the coil................if so a weedwacker one won,t work........................
