I know people have had them welded before,it just depends on if they are corroded or just broken.Hope this helps.

If he uses 2 u-bolts, he will need a set of spring perches to replace the rubber iso mount. Tractor supply has 3500lb spring perches that fit the ezgo axle tube perfectly. We use those with u-bolts for the rear lift.
New cap for under $17.00 is cheaper than welding if you don't have the aluminum welder or the conversion to u-bolts and perches. Is this car lifted or stock?

You are correct. Forgot about the perch.. I have usually been doing a lift when dealing with these and the lift block pretty much becomes the perch..

We just lifted it and did so by putting the rear springs on top of the axles instead of under them like stock. When replacing we found the break in the one. Probably cheaper to order the part than to change out both with U bolts and perches? Problem is timing as I am working against the clock. I need to ship this cart by end of next week to get it in route during holidays. Mail is slow this time of year.any suggestions?

Oops! I forgot to ask how to handle the problem with the shocks being a little too short when you reverse the springs to go on top? We got them to fit by putting pressure on them but this will affect the overall performance. Also we added two new leaves to the springs because we are adding a rear seat and have found the stock springs to be inadequate for the weight.

The lift-kits usually include shock-spacers or relocation brackets. If you go on MonroeShocks.com,look at the measurement-sheets.You can find the mounts your shocks have and the length you need, then go to an auto-parts store and get 2 new shocks.

Put the shock mtg. plate on top of the springs, the shocks will have their normal reach. Use grade 5 bolts instead of the square u-bolts the factory used. I you don't have time to order the part, then a trip to tractor supply for perches and u-bolts will be in store.
