That's what I was wondering. Now if I could be certain that's what I have, should I try to make the different exhaust work?

It bolts on but can be a little pricey but if you can modify you can open that muffler up a little up as a 2 stroke it is the expansion camber that tunes the motor so don't open it to much.

Oh boy, now that I'm looking at mufflers, it looks like I have the 88 muffler also. The pics show the header coming in the top of the muffle which I have, and on the 86 pic it shows the header coming in the side. I've checked my tag again and it says serial number-463372 and manuf code 15m87. Did I get a cart with and full 88 swap?

By the I manufacture code u have an 87 but could be a late year 87 that came with the 88 carb and muffler. That is the only difference between the pg2 motors.

It may help if there is build up in the muffler it will restrict it and not let it rev up all the way
