Also pay attention to the shape of the pad, I believe the taller part of the pad is more comfortable up by your knees. Like in a car, it's more comfortable to sit down lower toward the back where your butt is. I had a buddy who recovered his old seat and put put the pad in backwards, when you sit in the seat it kind of feels like it's trying to dump you out.

I've not seen a brand new seat so I don't know if it comes level from the factory and it just wears and settles as you sit on it.

Well, I'm using the old seat pad and although I marked front and back on the board before taking the old cover off, with my luck I put it on backwards, and since the pattern is directional on the new cover, I can't just turn it around.

If it is backwards and ends up being uncomfortable when installed, I'll cross that bridge then. I really can't see myself pulling all those staples and doing it again!

Funny, when you try so hard to be sure you got it right the first time! "measure twice, cut once"? Even though I thought I did, but I know my luck!

Ha, and I'm even half Irish!

You know that seat is going to bother you every time you see it. You've done such a great job so far, don't settle for less now. I had foam thickness issues when I made my flip-flop rear seat (more is not always better). The greatest help with the staple removal was what is called a painter's 5-in-1 scraper. It has a pointed corner and just the right flex/strength to lift the staple for a needle-nose plier. It's a time consuming PITA but worth it.

Just pull the handles off and switch them around

I did switch the handle around after it was pointed out to me and at this point the pad doesn't appear to be higher in the back, but I'll see after I get the cart put back together.

I do have an awesome staple puller which I bought when I put new felt on my pool table and it works great! Once you get under the staple it grips it to pull it out. No pliers needed even if the staple breaks!

It's called a Crain 126 Staple Remover for about $13.

A buddy let me use his paint booth so I finally got 'er painted

Adhesion promoter on the top, getting ready to spray, with body parts prepped and ready

Sprayed the top first, white as I wanted two red stripes

Using a Base coat, Clear coat system (2 stage), got the red on

Put on the decals and got it all clear coated

With one more decal on each side of the body

For not picking up a paint gun in 30 years, I'm very happy with how it turned out! Now to get it home, assembled and delivered to the folks!

Actually, YES! I love red and white as a color combo for carts. Body will be red and the stripes will be on the cart body in white. MUCH like SS stripes on a Chevy muscle car.
