Re: Volt Reducer Screw Up !
It says 40-60v input. To me, that means you got the wrong one.

Re: Volt Reducer Screw Up !
There is a reason they sell 2 different models. No wait! Try it , and tell us if it works.

Re: Volt Reducer Screw Up !
It will work if you have 40 to 60 volts going in. Lower than that I don't know.

Re: Volt Reducer Screw Up !
Hold up............... In the body of the auction it also states:
"Simply find the 36 or 48 volts output on the battery pack with a volt meter, starting there using the same gage wire as on the reducer unit, put battery terminals on wires connect red wire to + post and a black wire to - battery post run to where ever you mount the reducer. Sounds complicated but its very simple really." All you have to do is try it. Use some gator clips or something similar. |

It also say "If you have any questions, Call Jim!!" Might call Jim....... Lets see, on one hand call Jim, ask if will work...............On other hand call Jim, Ask to buy another one because you smoked the one you could have sent back. Hmmmmm! what to do, what to do. |

Re: Volt Reducer Screw Up !
Jim has already said I could send it back and he would mail out the one I should have ordered. Of course I have to include a MO for $7.20 to cover the shipping, but I should because I'm the one who ordered the wrong one.
I opened the box and looked at the one I got and it is a pretty nice looking little unit, but it is also the first volt reducer I've ever had in my hands. It has good weight to it, which in my opinion is a good thing. |

Re: Volt Reducer Screw Up !
Ahhh but Jim says 36 or 48 volts source. Now granted Jim may have used the same ad for both reducers but I say Jim needs to get his words right...or not because the wording is different in some sentences. Don't think a reducer will smoke by giving it less voltage than it is rated for eh? At least I hope not because if so, better keep those batteries 100% charged.
You are doing the right thing I assume by giving it back to Jim and let him send you the one he did not copy and paste on. By the way, where in SW Georgia are you located at? Bainbridge area by any chance? As a side note, that looks identical to the Chinese reducers and if that is correct, they are all the same, different labels (I have one here). Also, those are industrial reducers, not made for outdoors. The Chinese models WILL NOT TAKE MOISTURE of any kind. Better sucure that thing high and dry. |
