Default Reducer Wiring: Series TXT

Have a ScottyB 30amp reducer for my 02 series txt. Got everything hooked up besides the turn on wire (yellow). I found the green wire coming off the key switch but after searching and reading that reducer could cut out between forward and reverse has me looking for another solution. On a series cart will it cut out? Can I wire it to positive side of solenoid? Thanks for the help.

On a series cart, I already had a three position uniquely keyed key switch, so I just used the third position to power the reducer. The advantage of a series is that with the key on, no power goes to the controller until you hit the gas. Not sure this is true on sepex or RXVs?

Yes, it will briefly cut off each time you switch directions. Wiring it to the solenoid + is the same as wiring it directly up to the battery pack + , so it will always be on.

Here's a wiring diagram of a series, so you can see, unless you want a separate switch, a 3 position key switch - off, on, on with reducer - is the way to go. One other option would be to change positions of MS2 and KS1, in the wiring. Then you could use a two position key switch. However, you wouldn't be able to use the radio while charging, if you have a reed switch, called "interlock" on the attached diagram.

As far as a switch, I just need a 2 pole on/off switch rated for 36+ volts DC correct. found one on amazon that appear to fit the bill.

Correct.

Changing out the sequence of the KS1 and MS2 should be pretty straight forward, though.

By changing the sequence the MS2 would come first followed by KS1. Would these be located behind the dash or?

MS2 is the microswitch on the FNR, that prevents the cart from running when it's not in F or R. If you remove the FNR cover and rotate the handle from F to R, or vice versa, you see one microswitch open, then close. The other microswitch only closes in R. It's for 1/2 speed reverse and the R beeper.

KS1 is the key switch.

My FNR is not stock, I have a ScottyB HD unit. Would micro switch still be there?
