Default which flasher to use?

There seems to be a huge selection of flashers at the parts store. Which one do I get for my turn signals ( they are not LED). Here is the diagram I used.

It does not really matter what flasher you get, just get the cheapest 2 prong flasher they have. Normally a 550, 552, 575 or 577. One prong will have an 'X' on it and one will have an 'L'. X is your input and L will be your load (although they will work either way).

Can I use a two prong with the above diagram or do I need a three?

You can use a 2 prong flasher. Just hook up the 'L' terminal to the switch and the 'X' to 12 volts.
