losing power when go pedal is applied

i have a 1998 club car 48v. it shuts down while i am going along with the go pedal pressed all the way down.i can here it click when i push the go pedal, but no power. it does eventually take off again and stops again and so on.please help.......

You need to start with basics first, check each battery for proper full charge voltage 8.49, then check whole pack voltage 50.96 and post readings to forum. These readings must be taken at least one hour AFTER charging. Then remove and clean all cable connections and inspect cables for corrosion. If all checks out correct then you can advance to other possible problems, such as solenoid, pedal speed control, or even solid state controller, brakes, etc?
By the way is your cart a series ( F&R lever under right leg ) or Regen 1 or 2 ( F&R rocker type switch under right leg ) as this info is important for further diagnostics.

as said go over batteries and cables......how old are they and how are they maintained? you might need a set of batteries..................
