Motor Upgrade Question
I currently have a 06 Club Car Precendent that's lifted and has the stock motor and controller. My question is can I upgrade just the motor to a faster motor and if so how fast.
The reason I ask this is because I've heard both yes and no. I've heard no because I'll fry the stock controller and possibly the motor. But I've also heard I would be ok since I don't do any extreme off roading and that the Precendent has a thermo switch on it that shuts the cart down if it gets hot. Thanks |

Re: Motor Upgrade Question
You can upgrade the motor and get about a 20% increase in speed and torque with a Bandit motor from Plum Quick. I have a lifted Precedent with an Alltrax Controller and recently upgraded the motor. I saw both speed and torque gains from stock as well. PQ are great folks to deal with also!!

Re: Motor Upgrade Question
+1 on PQ! I saw the same on mine, going to a controller for more speed and torque!

Re: Motor Upgrade Question
I have a 07 precedent with 19.75 in tires on it. Stock controller and a PQ bandit and it does 24-26 mph. However there are no hills around me in Florida and I mainly drive on streets and paved sidewalks. Not sure I will go with a new controller unless I can get 4-5 mph out of it which I doubt.

Re: Motor Upgrade Question
Is the PQ Bandit the best way to go and is it pretty easy to install?
