Default Motor Upgrade Question

I currently have a 06 Club Car Precendent that's lifted and has the stock motor and controller. My question is can I upgrade just the motor to a faster motor and if so how fast.
The reason I ask this is because I've heard both yes and no. I've heard no because I'll fry the stock controller and possibly the motor. But I've also heard I would be ok since I don't do any extreme off roading and that the Precendent has a thermo switch on it that shuts the cart down if it gets hot.

Thanks

You can upgrade the motor and get about a 20% increase in speed and torque with a Bandit motor from Plum Quick. I have a lifted Precedent with an Alltrax Controller and recently upgraded the motor. I saw both speed and torque gains from stock as well. PQ are great folks to deal with also!!

+1 on PQ! I saw the same on mine, going to a controller for more speed and torque!

I have a 07 precedent with 19.75 in tires on it. Stock controller and a PQ bandit and it does 24-26 mph. However there are no hills around me in Florida and I mainly drive on streets and paved sidewalks. Not sure I will go with a new controller unless I can get 4-5 mph out of it which I doubt.

THANKS!! I too live in Fl and mostly drive on the road but occasionally we do go off road but it's only to putt around through some trails. I'm mostly concerned with frying something.
thanks again

Is the PQ Bandit the best way to go and is it pretty easy to install?
