Electric to gas conversion
I can buy a 1995 EZGO for a great price but it is electric. I want to put a 24 or 30hp Briggs V twin in it. Do I have to find a gas rear end or can I use the electric one? I'm ready to do a complete remake if I have to and will be raising it up at least 4". Haven't even seen the inside of a cart before. What's involved?
Thanks. Bob |

Re: Electric to gas conversion
with alot of fabing you could use the electic, but the electric motor bolts directly to the rear end.
The best way would be to get a complete rear cradle and rear end from another ezgo, or check this site out for rear axles.https://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp. It might say not avaiable, but do a search for transaxle and it should pop up |

Re: Electric to gas conversion
It would be best to get an entire rear that does forward and reverse and fits a CVT secondary clutch. A yamaha rear would work too, the newer ones you can get posi for if you need that otherwise G2 or newer should work...G9, G14, etc. If you get an EZGO it might be easier don't know, also have to hook up the brakes though most are similar.

Re: Electric to gas conversion
After checking out some of the electric motor sites, I think I am going to stick with electric. I was amazed at the power some of the electric motors make. People are even drag racing them and going way faster than I want to go. Thanks for the input.
