2005 DS IQ 48 volt Bad batteries??

Ok guys here we go. This is a problem that a neighbor of mine has had for a while. He can use the cart one day and the cart is fine. The next day he can use the cart and the cart stops running. He can press the accellerator two or three times and it might go and it might not. After a while it will run. He says that the solenoid is clicking , he thinks?? Here is what I found when I started troubleshooting. The first thing I checked was the water level. There were a couple of dry cells in each battery. I know, not good, I told him that he has probably fried the batteries. Well, I put enough distilled water in the batteries to charge the batteries. The charger went through a full cycle so I finished filling the cells with distilled water. I did wait a while before I took the specific gravity readings. Her are some of the voltage and specific gravity readings I got after a full charge cycle.
The voltage readings are in a 30 min. period. I took 3 readings per battery.

Battery #1
9.27 volts 8.95 volts 8.82 volts 1.270 avg. specific gravity
Battery #2
9.21 volts 8.91 volts 8.79 volts 1.270 avg. specific gravity
Battery #3
9.08 volts 8.79 volts 8.70 volts 1.230 avg. specific gravity
Battery #4
9.08 volts 8.80 volts 8.70 volts 1.230 avg. specific gravity
Battery #5
9.19 volts 8.91 volts 8.82 volts 1.270 avg. specific gravity
Battery #6
9.17 volts 8.91 volts 8.82 volts 1.270 avg. specific gravity

The batteries are all Trojan batteries with 09 stamps. I know that the SG readings on Batteries 3 and 4 are bad and are probably toast. These two batteries were the one's that were tapped for the lights. Hence the poor readings. Plus the fact that the batteries were not serviced is another contributing factor. With all of that said, would bad batteries cause the stop running at times problem? And also, is it normal for batteries to start dropping voltage in that kind of time frame? I am sure had I checked them like an hour or two later, the voltage would have dropped even more. All of the readings were taken right after I pulled the charger off. Then in 15 min. intervals after that. I did not run the cart at all before I took the voltage readings.
I am sorry for the lengthy post. I just know how frustrating it is to try and help someone when you do not have all info. I hope I covered it all. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Recharge the batteries and let them sit undisturbed for 12 hours, then give voltage and SG readings after they have had 12 hours time to settle.

Ok. The readings I gave are from last night at 6:30. I just checked the batteries again and I am getting just about the same readings.
