Re: possible to beef up suspension without changing width
The lift won't affect the width, but the new wheels will.Aftermarket wheels are offset either 3"/4" or 2"/5" on a 7"-wide wheel, depending on mfg.Hope this helps.

Re: possible to beef up suspension without changing width
the 4" lift actuatly widens the width by like 1-2". This is due to the spindles. Then you add offset wheels and you get even wider.
the 2" lift EZGO sells does not widen the cart. |

Re: possible to beef up suspension without changing width
Thanks for all the info. After some trades I took a deal for f/r kits and tires. I doubt its a jakes kit. After some tire and error, well a slight problem of not noticing that one of these 8" buggy tires was not offset and riding on the leafspring and chewing up a motor wire until at a campground. fortunate for me there was an awesome guy at the campground with some spare 2" spacers to sell me. With the 2" spacers on the rear it was a tight fit through the gate. Currently I have 10" ITP's on the rear with no spacers, and 12" electric car tires up front.. It is still pretty much stock width fits through the gate nicely.

Re: possible to beef up suspension without changing width
I put the 4" economy block lift on mine and didnt like it. The steering was loose and no great way of tightening it up. I took it off and changed to heavy duty springs which gave me the extra inch or so clearance I needed for larger tires.
