Default Ezgo TXT slow and very little power in reverse

I have a 1999 Ezgo TXT that has been running fine up to now. Now it is very slow in reverse and has very little power in reverse. Any advise on what and where to start checking. Thanks for the help.

We need a little more info to help. If there is an id tag in the right glovebox, what are those numbers and where is the FNR selector ? Also, does it have a run/tow switch on the controller cover ?

I'm at work right now so I can't get the numbers on the plate but the FNR is down by your right leg and there is no tow switch. I believe this would be the non dcs type.

Sounds like you have a series cart. (Series wound motor)

All the same components are used whether in F or R, so the most likely suspect is the F/R switch.

Check it for dirty or loose contacts, or connections.

Also, the is an Orange wire from MS-4 (same microswitch the turns on reverse beeper) to Pin-3 on controller that puts it in half-speed reverse.
(Maybe the orange wire wasn't connected, but now is)
