Re: LiFePo4 batteries
After thinking about it, I wonder if hd rear springs are really needed if you install the lipo battery system. Considering that the pack is half the weight. Maybe we could all have a nice smoother ride again.

Re: LiFePo4 batteries
Hello, I'm the neighbor who has helped to put together the LFP system. If there are questions about the cells or system configuration I can help to answer. We've been using the cart as a test system for gathering comparison data to the Trojan lead acid cells used by the local golf course. I have to admit it's been a fun side project and another good example of how superior the LFP cells are compared to the older lead acid systems. At this time, we only work with OEMs for the newer systems, but I'm beginning to think there is a good aftermarket option which should be investigated.
The system specs: Cells - CALB CA100, qty 16 BMS - Custom Green Cubes Tech Device (Gas Gauge BQ34Z100, AFE Maxim 14921) The BMS controls a separate relay which manages the charge/discharge shut offs and makes sure everything is kept balanced and running smoothly. |

Re: LiFePo4 batteries
I checked with one company that makes a retrofit kit for Club Car. 60 ah pack was around $2000.00 and 100 ah pack was about $2400.00. Those prices included the charger. You can buy a lot of Trojans for $2400.00.

Re: LiFePo4 batteries
I don't think 60Ahr would work. With two grown men in my cart and an extra 100 pounds on fold down rear seat, we saw some inrush currents of 215 or slightly over. 80Ahr might be as low as a person should go.

Re: LiFePo4 batteries
I don't see why anybody would consider putting a 60 or even a 100 ah battery pack in their cart. The cheap US Batteries that I use are rated at 170 ah. Why would you want to pay twice as much for half the power?
