Battery Charging Problem on 48V CC DS
Hi, I'm a newbie here and have found tons of useful information throughout the forum. I just bought a new 48v Club Car that is a 2000.5 DS (from the best I can tell).
My batteries are Trojan T-860 (6 x 8volt) and my charger is a Diversified Power Accusense Model 1-48017-04. My issue is that I'm trying to charge the cart and the charger has displayed a couple of different error messages that I can't decipher. On the first several attempts, the charger had both the "Detection" and "Power On" lights illuminated. The operator manual says this means the battery pack is discharged to near 0v and charger cannot "see" battery connected. I went through the process to reset the OBC and now I receive a different error on the charger which has a flashing "Shutdown" light. According to the manual, this means Battery Polarity Reversed. I have tested the total battery load and it measures 49v. I tested each battery to ensure none had reversed its polarity, and each measures 8.1v. Any ideas as to why the batteries won't charge properly? Thanks! |

Re: Battery Charging Problem on 48V CC DS
Update: I have cleaned all battery connections and now am back to the "Detection" and "Power On" lights illuminated.
Is it possible to charge each battery individually with a 6v/12v Automatic Battery Charger if they are discharged to a state that the cart charger doesn't recognize them? |

Yes, you can charge them one at a time just keep an eye on them.

Re: Battery Charging Problem on 48V CC DS
I have charged each battery individually for 1 hr+ and they all now are around 8.4v with a total output of 50.3 volts. However, my charger still will not recognize the batteries.
Shouldn't 50.3v be enough output to register with the charger? Do you think I have a bad charger at this point, or is there something else that could be causing this? |

Re: Battery Charging Problem on 48V CC DS
Ha, this could be the problem. The connector from the charger plug to the battery is broken. I'll replace that and see if that fixes my problem...
