oh - good check on the math - I didn't do that...
maybe his DMM needs a new battery too..

Its really irritating after you do a string of tests and discover that your voltmeter needs a new battery so all of that testing was worthless.

The math is totally linear (assuming cables are proper size, not getting roasting hot), 33% more volts = 33% more speed, 33% more torque. The range might be about the same, at the same top speed of the 36v batteries. The 8v batteries have less AH rating then the 6v does, but should require less throttle to cruise at the top speed available with 36v, before the conversion (i know range wasnt addressed, just throwing that in there, hopefully helpful & not too confusing)
