Default G1 muffler sugestion !

I bought this G1 because I heard there is a lot of life left in these 20 plus year old carts . I need a muffler and have been putting off buying the factory replacement .Any sugestions . I would like to heard what you guys have tried . I keep thinking a motorcycle or ATV pipe but don't know ! Richard

got a used motorcycle junk yard anywhere close. plenty of choices there. otherwise take out a lot of bucks from your wallet.

I have heard of guys using Banshee pipes. Just remember back pressure is critical for a 2 stroke to run right.

the banshee pipe is supposed to work, the trick is to cut the pipe and rotate it like 90 degrees? Someone mapped it out on Buggies one time

My G1 muffler was cracked around the manifold flange and bottom of the muffler was rotted through. I looked into alternative exhaust but runability and noise output was crucial since this will be sometimes used in a campground. I got lucky and after looking on ebay for about 4 months I finaly came across a used one off a g1 for $50 shipped!!! Muffler has no soft spots of holes, so it buys me more time so I dont have to spend the big bucks on a factory one.

The original muffler was cut off when I got the cart.If you look hard in the picture it can be seen on the floor next to the battery . My cart is an 82 and the muffler was unique that year . Long story short the original muffler was cut off and a dirt bike muffler was added in its place. Very noisy and not a pretty job . I need to improve with something.
