Controller cuts out
Cart is a G19E .It has a new controller.
The cart controller cuts out under a load.Flipping the run tow switch will reset the controller and the car will run for 10 to 50 yards then the controller cuts out again. the cut out is more frequent under load. When the controller cuts out the solenoid is still active....it clicks when the t/r switch is flipped to tow and clicks back when switched to run.The reverse buzzer does not work when the controller cuts out. Battery voltage with no load is 49 v and a consistent 8.3 v on all 6 batteries Under load the controller cuts out at 45v with each battery at a consistent 7.5 v The cart has anew stop switch and anew throttle potentiometer and anew solenoid. Could it be that I need a new battery pack? |

Re: Controller cuts out
Sounds like it. Fully charged should be 50.4v. So charge yours up, check the voltage at rest (again), then check the voltage under load (again). 4 cells in an 8v battery, each is 2.1v charged, so 8.4v times 6 is 50.4

Re: Controller cuts out
Definitely sounds like bad batteries. 50.9v or so is fully charged for a strong pack. They are likely dropping more than you think, and the controller is probably shutting down because of low voltage.

Re: Controller cuts out
Luke is probably right. However, I have seen this same thing happen with Yamahas and it was the run/tow switch. Just another thing to check.

Re: Controller cuts out
Bit the bullet and put in a new battery pack this pm.will charge o/n and test tomorrow
If it fails again I will by pass the tow run switch and re-test. If that fails... I am out of ideas |

Re: Controller cuts out
No luck...fresh fully charge battery pack and controller still cut out under load.Tried bypassing the tow/run switch but no difference.
I am out of ideas. FYI static voltage is 50.1 and under heavy load 48.5 The only major item I have no repacked is the motor. It seems that when the motor calls for more current under load the controller cuts out. Any ideas out there |
