Default Cart has full charge but dies in minutes

My 2008 yamaha G29 48 volt electric cart sat all winter and when i charged up the batteries and tried to take it for a ride the reverse beeper didnt work and it would only do about 9 mph (normal is 13 or 14 on full charge) went half way around the block and cart stopped had to push it back. checked battery charge when i got home and all batteries were 12 volts or higher. any ideas?

Fully charge cart, wait 12 hours without using cart. Get more accurate battery readings like 12.xx. then drive the cart, while monitoring pack voltage.

Lead acid batteries don't like to sit for months at a time. They either need to be plugged in to charge every 3-4 weeks, or they need to be on a trickle charger/maintainer to keep them at a full charge during long period of non-use. Otherwise they go dead and will not recover.

How is the water level in the batteries? Are all of the cable connections clean and tight?

Like CG said, need to check voltage on the pack while driving. Sounds like they're dead and not holding any capacity.

A bad battery will show a static charge but will fall flat when loaded. Do a load test on batteries.
