Default Alltrax for G29 question

I am wanting to upgrade to an Alltrax controller on my 2015 Yamaha Drive. The 14 mph top speed is a real downer currently and I’m about to add a rear flip seat. I don’t need a racing cart just something a little more enjoyable on the streets of my neighborhood. I was looking at Don Plowman’s site, which reading here gets glowing reviews. I see he offers the 300 amp controller and states speeds of 24-30 mph. Anyone know what it will do to a stock cart on stock wheels/tires and motor? Also, once it burns up the stock motor, is it capable of pushing an aftermarket motor to the same performance. One last question, will it handle a small lift and tire increase down the road? Nothing over 22 inches?

Thanks in advance!!

Default Re: Alltrax for G29 question

I have an XCT400 on 2013 G29. It gained about 30% more power and reached 21-22 mph on 18" tires with the stock motor. 22s would be a 22% increase in height & top speed or about 25-26.5 mph. The XCT400 is a good jumping off point for any sepex street cart. The 400 will run most any aftermarket motor later on and a cooling fan can be added (plug in/screw on) for extended peak output.

The XCT300 can be run with the stock solenoid where the XCT requires an upgraded solenoid like the SW180. Either controller will run the FSIP speed motor up to 27mph. The 400 just does it with more gusto and generally is better suited for big tires and added seating.

I have basically the same cart as you and soon as my expendable funds get a little higher I’ll be doing the XCT400 or 500 ScottyB!
