Help!
Is there anyone who may have a starter solenoid for a G1? Curious to see if I can bypass the solenoid or if I will damage anything else? May a Ford solenoid work in place of the stock solenoid?

Typically a golf cart solenoid is a continuous duty solenoid which is different from a momentary automotive solenoid.
Do you have a 4 or a 6 terminal unit? |

have a look at the solenoid. how many terminals are coming off it. If its a 4 terminal unit you should have two big posts and two small posts. a 6 will have 2 big and 4 small posts. ( a post is where the leads bolt onto)

A solenoid is a simple switch the 2 small posts activate the contacts to close which connects the wires to the 2 big posts... The small posts require 1 to have a positive and the other to have a negative current to activate the contactor.
You can test for the presence of this pos and neg with a test lamp or voltmeter. if they are present and the solenoid contactor is not working it is likely defective. In this case you can jumper the large contacts... What are the symptoms that make you want to jump it? What testing have you done? |

I replaced the cable lead, checked for voltage at the starter. I have voltage at the starter but I really dont think the juice is interacting from the solenoid to the starter
