Big Problem With VIN # on Cart
We aquired a Gas Yamaha Golf Cart..we were told was a 96...didn't plan on registering it until we purchased a trailer...when we purchased the golf cart the people had no paperwork on it because they were told by previous owner that it didn't have to be registered and was considered personal property insurance-wise...we want to register it but we came across where the vin # looks like it should have been on the frame under the mid body hinge on drive side, there are two holes where it looks like the metal plate was removed..can it be identified any other way? oh and it has been lifted and painted.

Re: Big Problem With VIN # on Cart
The vin should be stamped directly on the frame...

under the hinge were the seat folds up the picture said to look directly under that on the mid body frame...thats were its supposed to be..and you can see were a metal plate was bolted there..but we can't find anything else on it..I called Yamaha and they said that they only put it in one spot on the carts...

Re: Big Problem With VIN # on Cart
They also put the vin on the passenger side of the rear frame.
