On another note when I was changing the oil today I removed the air hose to the carb to get better access to my oil filter. When I removed it I had some gas pour out. So I removed the air box cover and pulled out air filter only to find about a 1/4 inch of fuel in the bottom of the case. Anyone have any idea what would cause this and how to fix it?

Your float valve is stuck open or the needle is damaged, letting it overflow. You'll have to remove the carburetor, then the bowl from the bottom and check the needle. Either the needle is damaged or there is dirt holding it open.

Just ordered new carb. Read that the butterfly valves have a reputation of failing with age resulting in a much more expensive repair. Considering Its a 2001 I just replaced it. I also ordered the aftermarket carb jet. Anyone have a diagram of where it goes on the carb and instruction. Im sure it s probably quit simple once shown

The main jet is #6

Note: CC/Kawi engines are very finicky when it comes to fuel/air mixture ratio,
depending the size of jet you bought, it may run great, or may may run cr*ppy!
If it runs badly, get a K&N air filter, It may help to balance out the ratio!
