Ride question - springs or shocks?
I was riding behind another cart at the camp this weekend headed back in from a hunt. The cart in front of me was handling the bumps and ruts just fine - but I kept having to slow down I was getting bounced around so much. His is a stock CC, 4" lift and about 18" tires - smaller than mine.
I knew my springs needed some work but it seems as if my shocks might be gone as well - if I hit the gas hard you can hear and feel the shocks extend all the way in the front end. What would ease my ride up more - shocks or springs? |

Spring soft, shock hard, is a rule of racing and one
I find works well. That said if you carry a large range of loads you will suffer a hard ride or a sagging cart. Carts could use a better variable spring. |

Re: Ride question - springs or shocks?
What kind of air pressure are you running? 8 or 10" rims?

10" rims. 22" tires. Tires have 11-12 psi in them now, but reading the tire says 7 psi max - forgot to drop them down - doh! Would that really make that big of a difference?

Re: Ride question - springs or shocks?
You will be amazed by the difference. Although it's to late now a 8" rim with 22" tires will add sidewall area to the tire and help with the ride quality.
If at all possible, if you wanted, ask to swap tires and rims with the other guy sometime and see if the difference is more in tire/wheel combo verses suspension. Just a thought. Drop the air to 6 or 7 and try it. look at the tread pattern on the ground when traveling loaded, might could drop it even lower. |
