JohnnieB....

Have you got your hands on a RXV to test drive yet?

Nope - The rednecks in this area aren't Hi-Tech.

But, I'll keep an eye in the rearview mirror while I'm cruising around this summer and if I spot one, I'll slow down and ask to take it for a spin.

Kidding aside, closest EZGO dealer is over a 100 miles away and none of the golf courses in the area have any RXVs. We've got kids, grand-kids and great-grand-kids in CO, FL and MI that we will likely be visiting this year and if there is an EZGO dealer in the vicinity, I'll probably find time to take a test drive, but other than that, it won't be until I see one in the area I live in.

I went to look at and buy a RXV cart a couple of years ago from a guy. I rode it around his house a few times and didn't like it. The one I rode was much louder than any txt I have driven. I finally told him I didn't like it and he said he had a pds also so I bought it instead. Maybe something was wrong with his making it so noisy?

Just drove an rxv, it is much faster than my current txt. If I could sell mine for what I paid and spend the potential upgrade money i would probably buy the Rxv. What a difference. Fast smooth and much more torque.

Read threads on RXV brake and Battery problems.

They are real, but mostly avoidable.

Word of caution on RXV's--

Dont lift them and put large tires on them. They can be unstable lifted and brake performance and torque suffer with tires that are too large.

By and large, RXV's are great rides, we sell a bunch of them and the
folks love them.

Good luck !!
Keep us posted !!

I agree.

But the Speed of an RXV added to the soft front suspension (coil over) can be quite nasty.

Also the lack of "REAL" brakes can make stopping an overspeed RXV difficult.

If you are driving through Atlanta, let me know and we can get you behind the wheel of an RXV !!!

I respectfully disagree with you assessment of the RXV. I've basically done everything you have mentioned to my 2010 RXV and have nothing but great experience....plus I do drive it like I stole it when not loaded down.
I have a 6" jake's spindle lift that widened the front profile. I am also running 22" tires and added a back seat. Obviously when not loaded down I am very stable but just utilize a bit of common sense and adjust my speed otherwise.
My cart does 20mph and that's plenty of speed. The RXV does a great job maintaining that rate in the TX hill country road/ off road. When climbing rocky terrain my cart is much more able than my old series cart.
As for stopping and maintaining a rate of speed on downhill runs, the cart is always great. One of the best things is parking on a grade and how the cart won't run away. It's a very kid friendly cart as well.

Delete

Facts:

A stock 36v PDS with $5 freedom chip goes 19mph.
A CC precedent with code 4 programmed for $100 goes 19.6 mph.
The same 2 carts with $500 controller upgrade go 24 and 22.5 mph with 35% increased torque.

Facts:

There are a lot of these carts out there that inexpensive to own. They can safely be lifted and performance can be enhanced without compromising stability. The Ezgo TXT is one of the best riding and versatile carts out there. Every aftermarket accessory & option ever made is available for them. They are simple and easy to work on and they continue to put a big grin on their owners faces.
