Default Radio Install - Interferance when accellerating

I just installed a audio deck in my 1984 gas ezgo. I am having trouble with the output stopping when i press the accellerator/gas pedal. Power to the deck is not lost, but the FM Tuner or MP3 output is interupted with no output. I have connected the deck batter wire to the positive on 12v battery, connected the ground to both the cart frame and also tried it on the negative post on the 12v battery. I also connected the acc wire for the ingnition on/off to the key switch on the cart. All seem to work fine, until the gas pedal is pressed.... Any idea why?

Very interesting. This might become a common issue.

Put radio on a toggle switch and not the ignition switch, and ground only to battery

Thank you all for your replies.

I did actually try the direct wiring to battery and on separate switch, but still same issue. I have since tried installing another deck, which was older that I had pulled out of another car of mine a few years ago. It does not have this issue, so I am not sure why this particular new deck has this problem. The old deck however, has another issue which is that while the gas pedal is pressed and the motor is running, the audio output has interference. It is a static and humming sound coming out of the speakers...

Any suggestions as to how I might resolve the interference? Possibly with a noise suppressor of some kind?

Thx for any suggestions....

It may not have a resistor type plug/cap/wire. I had a solid-core set on an old Camaro and the radio revved up with the engine.

Thx for suggestion of making sure it has a resistor type plug/cap/wire. Sorry, but I'm NOT very experienced when it comes to the electronics, so its not clear to me as to what this means. Are you referring to a special spark plug, cap and wire combo or some additional module that can be installed to prevent this? If so, where can I order something like this?
thx

Most newer plugs are resistor. NGK would be along the lines of BPR5ES with the R for resistor. Plug cap and wire are likely less of the issue.

I'm having the exact same issue in my '87 marathon gas. Had an older deck that went to static when driving but perfect when stopped. installed newer deck and instead of static cut out completely. Deck doesn't lose power just no sound until accelorator is released. please post if you resolve your issue on how.
