225 vs 205 on a 14" wheel for street only use
I have noticed most all the wheel and tire combos available have 205/30 14 tires. I am guessing this is to clear stock height carts. I would like a little taller tire and a decent amount of sidewall on the tire to prevent wheel scuffs. Lots of curbs and speed bumps where we roll.
Anyone running 225/35 or or even something taller in a street tire? Have considered going with some off road tires but will never go off road and don't want the tire noise. Thanks |

225/40-14 on my non lifted RXV. No rubbing with slight trimming on the inside of the rear plastic bumper and dual action rear springs. No issues with 500# on the back seat.
Better ride than the 30's that came on it but not much. Street only in my case. |

Going with 12' wheels and tires with taller side walls is a good plan IMO. You didn't say what cart you have. Tires taller than 20.5" on RXV's need controller mapping for reliability. TXT's will probably need a lift with tires over 20".
