Default 48 volt motor

I know I will get chastised for this but is there a way to test a disconnected motor to see if it will run and in both directions

I found a video showing how to use a 12v battery to run the motor and mine does run. in testing it this way the motor runs the same direction even if I swap the +and - on the battery. It did the same thing on a couple of videos I watched. So I guess my motor is good.

If that is a sepex motor you have to swap the fields (F1/F2) to run the other direction

That is a Sepex. If you are applying voltage to it and want to change directions, just swap the F1 & F2's around.

My motor runs in both directions
I guess I’m looking at a controller issue
