Re: Limp Mode! Speed Sensor? Magnet?
Quote:
I just replaced the magnet with a high speed and the new bolt that was provided which was also the same length as the old bolt. The magnet is tight and so is the bolt. I didn’t even try the push test after I drove it. I will try it when I get home though. I just replaced the solenoid not even a month ago thinking that was why I didn’t have a reverse. Come to find out my controller was fried. Now I have reverse but I only have 8mph which is a bummer! |

Re: Limp Mode! Speed Sensor? Magnet?
That is right, there was an issue with reverse being faster than forward.....
Did You ever get the reverse buzzer working to make sure the FNR is wired properly now? |

I swapped the 2 quick connect wires on the controller when I had more torque in reverse than I did in forward. But other than that everything is the way I got it. |

Re: Limp Mode! Speed Sensor? Magnet?
Just wanted to make sure the reverse buzzer was making noise when the cart was in Reverse, that indicates the Controller and FNR are wired properly.
Definitely push the cart with the Key Switch OFF, the cart should offer resistance and the reverse buzzer should start making noise after a couple of seconds of forced movement. If that works, You need to check the Solenoid big posts to make sure when the key is OFF there is a couple of volts from one post to the other. |

Re: Limp Mode! Speed Sensor? Magnet?
Another thing that can cause limp mode is 'undervoltage cutback' or 'throttle fault.'
These cars go into limp mode when the batteries are getting low. They also do it if the MCOR under the floorboard is failing/failed. Need the handheld otherwise we're only guessing. |

Re: Limp Mode! Speed Sensor? Magnet?
Based on experience. There's a code called 'under voltage cutback' that will make it slow down and 'severe under voltage' that makes it even slower and eventually shuts down.
'throttle fault 1' will engage limp mode too. |

I tested the solenoid with the key off and there is ZERO volts between the two. Assuming that I checked it correctly? I attached a picture just to double check. I don’t plan on keeping this car so I hate to invest in a scanner. I just wanna get it out of limp mode so I can sell it. |

Re: Limp Mode! Speed Sensor? Magnet?
There should be a resistor connected to those two posts, if someone replaced the resistor with a piece of wire it would cause limp mode.
Otherwise You need a new Solenoid and a new resistor if You don't have one. |

Re: Limp Mode! Speed Sensor? Magnet?
Is this the wire that they stuck in there to replace the resistor?
