DPI Charger Died
My battery charger stopped charging the golf cart batteries. It is a DPI Accusense Battery Charger. I got it used off ebay, it worked for a year and a half or so before it died. I haven't opened it up yet, is there a common component that goes bad on these chargers, a typical spot where to start looking?
I thought it might of been going bad, because when the charger was disconnected from the cart the needle on the amp meter would constantly tick. So after every time I charged the cart I would unplug the charger. Since I'm going to be working on the charger, is there a way to upgrade it to a 42 volt charger. Right now my EZGO TXT runs on 36 volt battery, there is enough room for another 6 volt battery under the seat. So that got me thinking: 1. can the stock controller, motor, and solenoid handle the extra 6 volt battery (its only an extra 6 volts, got to be over built to handle a little extra voltage, right)? 2. can the charger easily be upgraded to charge a 42 volt battery pack? Thanks. |

Re: DPI Charger Died
Circuit board is the usual suspect.
