Default 36v txt direction selector mount rusted out

2003 36 volt TXT and my forward/reverse knob suddenly started binding and the cart stopped working. I found the direction selector assembly (in front of the controller/solenoid) flopping around. I was able to get the cam moved into the correct spot for going forward. I found the mounting plate completely rusted out. I am convinced the correct way to fix this is to either mount a plate and bolt the assembly to it or possibly find the part # for the plate it mounts to. I have found what appears to be the part but it is called a "splash panel" in my parts manual. It is item #24 p/n 70244-G02 on page C-5 in my manual p/n 28789-G01. Is this the plate that the direction selector assembly actually mounts to? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
SurfsideRick

In the attached pic it's #24. On the far side of the cart though. Thanks for looking.

I see, we don't see that very often. aka never out here. lol

Maybe find one used or just weld a fresh piece over the old...?

I'm curious. Did you find a price on that piece?

$13.37 here
countrycat.com e-z-go-part-70244g05-splash-pan-painted
I found others for $43 up. I'm going to get one just to see if I can get something to mount my direction selector on. Thanks again.

Rick, the part you mentioned in your OP is in fact what you need, its just bolted in so I would recommend to buy a new one....OR if you can find one used, that would do just as well.
