My ezgo electric to gas conversion
Hey everyone, this is my first post but I have got a lot of info on this site while I was building my cart. I have an early 90's ezgo electric that I converted to gas. I struggled to find good info on how to get it done so most of what I did was on the fly and through some YouTube videos. My build started as a let's just see if I can actually make this work. I used a predator 420 hemi, 40 series torque converter, pressed out the shaft from the electric motor and a lot of welding. I initially had a reverse gearbox hooked up which did work but could not handle the speed/power, so I ended up taking that out of the equation and only have forward at this time. I have just finished with getting it street legal in Florida with break lights, signals, seat belts, reflectors, etc. So far it has run very well after about 2 months of trials. I will post pictures and try to respond to any questions as it was very difficult to find info about the way I did my build. My main objective in this was to make it still look stock with the big engine under the seat and out worked out great. Because I know people will ask, it does between 35 and 40 mph with just me in it with the current gearing, which is way too fast for this old unstable cart. But what a fun build and fun cart. I probably have a hundred pictures of the build so if anybody needs to know anything, I will check this thread periodically. Thanks guys keep up the good work!
