Default Delta-q charger

Anyone using the onboard delta-q charger, like the one on 'The Beast 4X4'? I am planning to convert my 2004 ezgo to 48 volts, and would like to get one of these also.

They are about the best charger you can get for a cart. Much better than any of the POS resonant chargers that come stock with the carts.

Thanks, Doug

Do you have to get it programmed from the factory for your specific use? I plan to use six 8 volt batteries in my ezgo. If I buy a used one, do you know if I can change the algorithms myself?
I found a 72 volt for a lot cheaper, do you know if the voltage output can be changed?
Thanks

Is this the one you're looking at? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=263602_263622

I'm not sure about altering the voltage output, I don't think it can be done, but a quick call to Delta would answer all your questions, they're very helpful.

Nope, not to my knowledge and if you're talking about the one for $175. Be careful. No returns allowed on that one and where is the cabling for it?

OK, I'll wait for a 48 volt.

Thanks, guys

Delta Q is a great charger- just hope it never breaks. Just had a customer who DQ failed, bad circuit board- new board was as much as a new charger.

kdeerman, the DQ is the best way to go. The 48V unit algorithms can be changed by the end user, preloaded with 10 different combinations, one of them even allowing a 42V pack charge, but no combination from the 72 to 48 idea.

And some are field repairable to an extent.

Thanks, guys.

By 42 volts, I assume you mean I could use 7 six volt batts? Is this 42 volt charge algorithm one of the 10 preloaded?

What do you mean by field repairable to an extent?
Thanks.

Tech Support,

I am planning to upgrade my '04 txt series cart to 48 volts, using 6 eight volt batteries, using the stock motor.

Do you know of an advantage of using the 7 six volt batts, and going with 42 volts?
I am kinda afraid that I may need to use another charger besides the DQ(in case it fails or something), in which I may not be able to charge the 42 volt pack?

Thanks
