pot box
can u check the pot box with the batteries unhooked and also what should i look for

Yes, the potentiometer needs no input to check the output ..... the two wires that go to the controller should read 0-5k when you push the peddle.

scotty should it start dead on 0 and stop dead on 5000 or can it vary some. + or - how much

I dunno for sure what the limits are sure. I think 50-100 ohms isn't going to make a big difference? Why, what do you got?

it started at 2.14 but the ohm metter i had only went up to 400 and cut off so my dad is bring his home so will cheack tomarrow

ok found a meter had it set on 20k ohms. and i checked the pot box and it was at zero. pressed pedal to floor and it went to 6.52 which is 6520 is that to much and what will it hurt
