Can you please help me I also need to replace the shaft bearing how can I do this without spliting the transaxle open. I saw the post talking about a motor centering kit. Thanks Brad

You can not change the input shaft bearing without splitting the case open.

Advise needed. I split the transaxle open to change the input shaft bearing for a noise on my golf cart that sounded like it was coming from somewhere on the rear end. It is almost like a rattle noise no squeal or squeak. I read all the posts and assumed it was the input shaft bearing. My cart is a 2002 DS Club Car 48 Volt. The inside of the transaxle looks great all the bearings spin freely without any problems and look in excellent shape. Is there a way to tell if the bearings are bad? My next question is it possibly my motor maybe a bearing on the motor or the bumper between the amature and transaxle? Or a spring kit on shaft? I'm at a loss and need advise.

I can almost guarantee you that the problem is the backlash between the motor teeth and the input shaft teeth. This can be easily cured with a Motor Centering Kit, Part number AM10039.
