Re: powering a 200a sub on my rxv
You need to get rid of the heater. There are much better ways to heat the cart that actually work. Electric resistance heat is the biggest waste of energy you can come up with, and can use more energy than the motor at cruise speeds, except you do not turn the heater off like you do the motor.
Use what most everyone else uses. A small Butane bottle with a Sun Flower Heater. They work great and will keep you nice and toasty even in sub-zero temps. Your electric heater will not even keep your coffee warm in freezing weather. With butane you can make your coffee and stay warm. |

I have not tried out the heater yet, it is a heatercraft g200x. It doesn't get that cold out here in Seattle but it is a valid point with the propane.

Re: powering a 200a sub on my rxv
Hi RXV tech here...
Use extreme care when messing with RXV wire harness or hooking to existing RXV system wiring. Unexpected BAD(EXPENSIVE) things can happen. i do not recommend powering accessories off 1 12v battery. Causes charge balance problems in battery pack and in many cases causes controller shutdown while moving. This results in "Parking/emergency" brake mounted on rear of motor to engage, locking back wheels without warning. Go with power supply that draws from the 48v pack as a whole. do not wire into key switch (blows controller) if you want to turn inverter off when not in use, put in a toggle switch. |

2nd, where ever you decide to terminate the amp, the head-unit also needs to draw from that same battery source, in order to prevent unwanted noise in the system. |

Re: powering a 200a sub on my rxv
Not saying skip sub!
1) use power supply that draws from 48v battery pack as a whole 2) do not try to wire into RXV's wire harness, just wire to pack with remote switch if desired. our shop does radios w/subs if requested.... no problems.. choose power supply with capacity for amp/sub. run lights & other stuff off other power supply if needed. Good luck --- |
