Default 1997 EZGO TXT 36v Motor Problem

I have a 1997 EZGO 36v TXT. Last summer while riding in cart I heard a single clunk noise that seem to have come from the rear end or possible the electric motor. The cart immediatly lost power to the pedal. Cart has not worked since.

I have check the batteries all good. Charges fine. When I push the pedal I can hear it click at the soleniod. If I put in reverse I can hear the reverse alarm.

Any suggestions? How can I check the motor?

Thanks

Have yo found a solution to this? I had the same issue this weekend. The same single clunk sound and then nothing. I have fully charged brand new batteries.

Is it catching? I had the same issue yesterday. I was pulling a hill with a passenger drawing around 300 plus amps and "Thunk" then no more go. I tested that the motor still ran by jacking up the rear end and using a jumper cable to jump the B- to the M-. Motor spins when I press the throttle. Did you try that? Did you notice any heat issues? I found that the solenoid lugs were hot as well as the resistor was very hot.
