Default Finally mounted my winch!

I know this question has been asked several times and there are many ways to do it. I really wanted a winch on my cart but really could not find a good way to do it. I wanted the mount to be strong enough so breaking would be minimal. I know Jakes sells a universal winch mounting bracket but I was unable to find any pictures of it mounted. So I bought the High 5” Allsports drop axle lift because it had a plate mounted on top of the axle that the springs mount to. I cut some ¼ steel 7.5 X 11 and it slides between the springs mounts perfectly. I had a $50 gift card from HF and it covered the winch cost. 4 bolts to the axle and 4 bolts to the winch and this bad boy is ready for action! I just hope I never have to use it . You may be able to wield something like this to the stock axle, not sure bc I don’t remember what it looks like. Anyways, though I would share.

Oh, I know it would never hold just wedged in there, that’s why I used a LOT of super glue . JK, I had to . I actually drilled 4 holes through the axle and plate and bolted it down. I then drilled 4 holes though the plate where the winch mounts and bolted the winch down. The winch in now bolted to the plate and the plate is now bolted to the axle.

Thanks for looking after me . I’ve mounted a few wenches in my day. I bolt 12K winches to all my Jeeps. I figured that little 3K winch will give out before the mount does.

Question Re: Finally mounted my winch!

Superman51,
Do you have a lot of play in your front end. I just bought this cart and it has the same front end. I noticed when I tried to back up it just sorta drug the front wheels. I added a tie rod to the lower part that attaches the brackets to the spindale where the bolt was. It seems to help but it's been pouring raining here so haven't took it for a ride yet.

The 2 front ends look different to me? One is round tube the other is square.

Hey Andy, Scotty is right. It looks like you have the Jakes drop axle lift. It has a round axle and I have the Allsports axle that is more square. I not sure I follow you on dragging the wheels? I don’t have any problems with mine, it performs very well. Could you elaborate more on your problem?
