Default spark, pop, dead

i have a late ninties early 2000's textron, held down the gas and the break at the same time for an extended period (dont ask) and it sparked and died. 2 of the batteries had there terminals melted. When i hooked up just two batteries still nothing happened. Any idea what i need to repair/replace? Could i have burned out the motor?
